Mutoh Interweaving Technology
With Mutoh's Intelligent Interweaving Technology (i²), ink is laid down in carefully optimised wave patterns as opposed to the straight lines used on most wide format printers. The results is a drastic reduction, or even complete elimination, of defects such as horizontal banding, ink mottle, bleed and the visible effects of missing or misfiring nozzles.

- Reduces gloss banding
- Reduces colour banding
- Creates application based print modes based on viewing distance
- Few decisions to make - no sign/picture distinction
Mutoh Intelligent Inverweaving (i²) simply means impeccable quality images every time.
- i² interweaves printing passes to give exceptionally even, accurate coverage

- Banishes typical print problems to deliver excellent sold colours and superb photo quality
- Boosts productivity with vastly increased operation tolerances and bi-directional printing of any image
Each Mutoh printer which incorporates i² has it's own set-up guide, allowing the printer operator to maximise the output speed and quality for each job. This largely reduces or eliminates the typical trial and error process often encountered by operators and means that jobs are no longer over-specified taking longer and costing more than necessary and no more under-specified jobs which lead to inferior print quality.
All the operator needs to consider when working with an i² enabled printer are three criteria depending on the application:
- Viewing distance
- Image type (sign or picture)
- Image content (amount of detail)
